During 2007, for the first time ever, Elvis Presley Enterprises held the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. The contest was a search for the
Elvis Tribute Artist that is the "best representation of the legacy of Elvis Presley." Legends in Concert and I joined hands to hold a Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest here in
Branson, Missouri. As a result of this contest I met 30 ETA's from all over the country and I learned just how dedicated these artists are to upholding the Legacy of the King. After the contest ended I assumed that I would lose track of my new friends, but to my surprise the friendships continued to grow. As I attended other contests I met more ETA's and became very impressed by the way they work together, and help one another. In 2008, a 2nd Ultimate Elvis Contest was held in Branson and I added more new friends.. In August, I received a call asking me to put on an Elvis Contest in Tunica, MS. My first thought was NO! But, I decided to call a few of my ETA friends and get their opinion, and they said 'Let's do it'. So, I made a call, accepted the job, added the name Uniquely Elvis and started planning. The contest was during the 'Celebrate Life in Tunica' 4 day Event held at Harrah's Casino and was awesome! I am in the early stages of planning the 2009 Uniquely Elvis Contest in Tunica, MS and looking at other locations. Please check back after the first of the year for dates and times! |
